Raj Mukherji is an accomplished American politician, businessman, and lawyer currently serving as a senator representing New Jersey's 32nd District. A member of the Democratic Party, Mukherji has a diverse background, including five terms in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he held roles such as majority whip and deputy speaker. He also served as a law professor and local prosecutor, and was a deputy mayor of Jersey City. Mukherji is a former U.S. Marine Corps sergeant, enlisting shortly after the September 11 attacks. He holds a JD from Seton Hall University, a Master's in Liberal Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor's degree from Thomas Edison State College. In business, he co-founded several companies and has been involved in real estate development. Mukherji's legislative focus includes transportation, healthcare, and veterans’ affairs.
