Millicent Rogers serves as the Chair of the Durham Public Schools Board of Education for District B. A lifelong resident of Durham, she is a product of the local public school system and graduated from Appalachian State University. Her advocacy for education began during her high school years at Durham School of the Arts and intensified after becoming a parent, where she engaged actively with her son's school through the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Rogers has held various leadership roles in educational advocacy, including serving as Board Chair for Rebound, Alternatives for Youth, and as Co-President of the People’s Alliance. She also contributed to the North Carolina PTA as Advocacy Committee Chair and Nominations Committee Chair prior to her election to the Durham Public Schools Board.
