His career began with military service as a Fireteam/Squad Leader in the U.S. Marine Corps, showcasing his leadership and commitment to service. Transitioning to academia, he served as the Director of the Correspondence Education Program and as a Veterans/Military Affairs Coordinator at Adams State University. In politics, Martinez has been a proactive member of his community, serving as a Councilmember in Monte Vista and as the State Representative for District 62 in the Colorado House of Representatives.
