Marco Rubio is an American politician and attorney who served as the United States Senator from Florida from 2011 to 2023. Born to Cuban immigrants in Miami, Florida, Rubio developed an interest in politics at a young age. He got his start in the Florida House of Representatives, rising to Speaker before making a successful run for the U.S. Senate in 2010. Known for his eloquent speeches and conservative views, Rubio made a bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. Although he initially suspended his campaign, Rubio decided to run for re-election to his Senate seat and was successful. He is widely recognized for his work on immigration reform and his stance on economic issues.
