She was first elected to the board in 2005 and has been re-elected multiple times, most recently in 2021 for a term ending in 2025. Freeman serves as the chairperson of the Finance committee and is also a member of several other committees, including Academics, Building, Technology, Policy, and Intergovernmental Relations
