Joanna Bryn Smith is a dedicated public servant and attorney currently serving on the Luzerne County Council. Born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, she was raised by public school teacher parents who instilled in her a strong sense of community service. She graduated from Bishop O'Reilly High School and later earned a double major in Philosophy and Fine and Performing Arts from St. Joseph's University. She pursued her law degree at the CUNY School of Law. Elected to the Luzerne County Council in 2024 as a Democrat, Joanna continues to advocate for community improvement through policy initiatives such as an election worker protection ordinance.
