James Cecil Higdon II, commonly known as Jimmy Higdon, is an experienced American politician and businessman from Lebanon, Kentucky. He has been a dedicated Republican member of the Kentucky State Senate since 2009, representing District 14, which included Marion, Mercer, Nelson, Taylor, and Washington counties until 2013. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, Higdon served as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. A graduate of Marion County High School, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts from Morehead State University. Beyond politics, Higdon has a solid business background, having owned Higdon's Appliance Center and Higdon's Foodtown. He also served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, showcasing his commitment to both public service and entrepreneurship.
