Jacqui Irwin is an American politician and member of the California State Assembly, affiliated with the Democratic Party. Currently representing the 42nd Assembly District, she previously served the 44th District. Born and raised in California, Irwin's professional journey began as a systems engineer at esteemed institutions like Johns Hopkins University and Teledyne. Transitioning to politics, she was elected to the Thousand Oaks City Council, eventually serving two terms as mayor. First elected to the State Assembly in 2014, she has been a strong advocate for veterans, women, and education as Chair of the Assembly Veterans Affairs Committee and a member of the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, as well as the Agricultural and Higher Education Committees. Irwin holds a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
