Isaac Gregory Bryan is an American politician and academic currently serving as a Member of the California State Assembly, representing the 55th district, which encompasses much of South Central Los Angeles. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Bryan has held his Assembly seat since 2021. He briefly served as Assembly Majority Leader from July to November 2023. Before his tenure in the Assembly, Bryan was the executive director of UCLA's Black Policy Project and led the Public Policy Division for the Million Dollar Hoods Project. He also served as the Director of Public Policy for the UCLA Ralph J. Bunche Center. His work has consistently focused on issues affecting marginalized communities, leveraging his academic expertise to inform public policy.
