Halkların Demokratik Partisi

Halkların Demokratik Partisi (HDP) is a pro-minority political party in Turkey established in 2012. The party's platform focuses on the rights of ethnic and religious minorities in Turkey, particularly the Kurdish population, and supports a democratic, inclusive and pluralistic republic. The HDP is distinct for its equal gender representation within party leadership. Despite its particular advocacy for Kurdish rights, it has a broader leftist and egalitarian orientation, championing labor rights, environmental justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and peace.
