Governador do Estado de São Paulo

The Governador do Estado de São Paulo is the chief executive officer of the state of São Paulo, the most populous in Brazil. This role is essentially equivalent to a governor in the United States, and carries with it similar responsibilities and expectations. Duty of the Govrenor, who is elected by popular vote to a four-year term, includes implementation of the budget, signing or vetoing bills into laws, and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the state government. São Paulo state, being Brazil's main economic engine, the role of its governor is particularly crucial to the country's overall economic well-being.
