Get Israel Folau's GoFundMe page taken down!

***Please Remember To Share*** Israel Folau has made millions of dollars over the course of his 10+ year career across various sporting codes. He was most recently employed by Australian Rugby Union, and like anyone else, he had an employment contract. As an adult, he made a conscious decision to breach that contract by discriminating against various groups of people globally (while being completely unapologetic for it), and now he wants the public to pay for his legal battle against his former employer. Below are the key points as to why Israel Folau's GoFundMe campaign should be removed and made void: - He is not fighting for his life, he is fighting for his lifestyle. He is fighting for the rest of the cash left on his contract that he chose to walk away from when he decided to be a homophobic bigot. - He is entitled to be religious. He is entitled to free speech. What he is NOT entitled to is disgraceful behaviour, blatant discrimination and to expect the public to mop up his mess when he most certainly has the means to do it himself. - There is a disclaimer at the bottom of his GoFundMe Story which clearly states to supporters that "there will be no obligations for Israel Folau to apply the funds in any particular way with respect to his legal action". This means the funds raised may not even go toward the actual reason for the fundraiser! - Furthermore, GofundMe Terms and Conditions state that it is prohibited to use their platform to raise funds that contribute to any campaign with the explicit purpose of involving the legal defense of hate, discrimination, intolerance of any kind relating to sexual orientation, sex, gender or gender identity. Need anymore be said? Let's get this farce of a fundraiser pulled from GoFundMe and leave the fundraising up to sick children, animal charities and other such worthy causes. Not rich brats that are self entitled and ignorant. Sign away, friends!

GoFundMe Please Remove Israel Folau's Immoral Fundraiser!

Multi-millionaire Israel Folau had his contract with Rugby Australia torn up and his employment terminated due to repeated violations of Rugby Australia's social media policy. This information was clearly spelled out in his contract (which he signed willingly), and he chose to violate the terms of his contract despite multiple warnings. He is now engaging in frivolous legal action against his former employer and has started a fundraising campaign with the popular crowdfunding website GoFundMe.com to pay for his legal costs. By doing so, he is falsy proclaiming himself as the victim of an injustice, and the violation of his employer's social media policy (multiple posts on Twitter and Instagram targeting vulnerable members with the community designed to encourage intolerance and discrimination) prevents him from practicing his religion freely.               Crowdfunding is meant to raise funds for individuals looking to get innovative projects off the ground that could make valuable contributions to society, science, and the arts or help people who are less fortunate pay for things such as life-saving medical treatments. Fundraisers set up by families to help pay for treatments and medical equipment for their severely ill children make of the bulk of fundraisers on GoFundMe.com's platform.  It is NOT meant for greedy, prejudiced millionaires to buy their way out of accepting responsibility for their words and actions as well as embolden undesirable elements in our society to persecute and vilify innocent people who live a different way or have different values to them. We, the co-signers of this petition demand GoFundMe.com remove Israel Folau's immoral fundraiser and the money raised so far be returned to those undesirable elements of our society who feel Folau is more deserving of their money than sick children!

Cancel Israel Folau’s Legal Fee Fundraiser and refund the money pledged

Israel Folau was recently sacked for social media comments about homosexuals, atheists and drunks (among others). These comments are a clear breach of his employment conditions with Rugby Australia, and he has been warned that his conduct is unacceptable in the past. Folau has now decided to launch a court case against Rugby Australia for unlawful dismissal and has taken to GoFundMe to seek donations from like-minded people. As of writing, he has raised $500,000 of his $3 million goal. Folau is quite well off, as reported by many media outlets his assets include: A property portfolio worth over $6 million. A $500,000 Lamborghini  Folau has also been one of the best paid football players in Australia for over a decade. So his assertion that he needs donations to fund his legal action are dishonest at best. There are several other GoFundMe campaigns that he has surpassed in the 2 days since he launched the campaign. These include people fighting terrible and rare illnesses, people who have had a loved one die and are now on the verge of becoming homeless due to the financial hardship this has caused. These campaigns are getting little media attention and the people that started them are legitimately doing it tough. Folau is claiming that his court case is about freedom of speech, freedom of religion and no person ever being sacked for their beliefs. Rugby Australia have previously stated that Israel is entitled to his beliefs, but the way he expresses them is harmful an unacceptable. Folau’s real case is him trying to get away with his hateful comments. He does not understand that freedom of speech does not mean that he can say whatever he likes without consiquence. I am calling on GoFundMe to close Israel Folau’s campaign down. By liquidating some of his assets and becoming more frugal (like the rest of us), he can afford his own legal fees.

Stop The GoFundMe for Adamson BBQ

If you have been following the news you have most likely heard of this self-righteous bro who owns a bbq joint in Etobicoke that is going against the provincial government’s mandates to protect the people. Whether you agree with these mandates or not, he is putting the lives of others at risk and selfishly breaking the law in order to gain fame and attention. This has led to him being arrested and charged, as well as tax payers money being wasted in the fight against his nonsense. Now a third party (who does not know this man) has gotten involved and set up a GoFundMe to raise money for him so that he can fight the charges against him - which is nearing a quarter of a million dollars! This is not right and I am asking GoFundMe to reevaluate what it’s platform should and should not be used for and to remove this so called “fundraiser" immediately. It’s setting a bad precedent for others, and giving money to a “rich kid” instead of to people and small businesses who actually need it. He has made decisions in which he knew there would be consequences - and he should pay for them himself! It is important to also note that this guy is not the “small business working-class hero” that he is trying to portray himself as. He is a white privileged anti-masker conspiracy theorist who comes from money and is known in Toronto for being an “attention seeker”. Earlier this year he was called out by the media after he had a public meltdown on Twitter over the Covid-19 pandemic and repeatedly referred to others as the R word. Please help by signing this petition to let GoFundMe know that you are not ok with this behaviour and that their platform should suspend this fundraiser immediately.

Waive your service fees to help the victims of the earthquake in Nepal

To all those affected by the terrible earthquakes in Nepal, the GoFundMe Team is thinking of you. We’ve worked rapidly to create the ‘Nepal Earthquake Relief‘ category and continue to work diligently to scan and review the thousands of campaigns that have been created to aid victims and send relief. This has been our #1 priority. Now, we’re announcing that GoFundMe will be donating back its 5% fee from all donations made to campaigns within our ‘Nepal’ category to AmeriCares. We believe that AmeriCares is best positioned to make an immediate impact by delivering aid packages of medical relief supplies to all of those displaced by the earthquakes. At the time of this announcement, over $1.5M has been raised within the ‘Nepal Earthquake Relief’ category. We’re able to keep our pledge for the first $5M raised in the category, for a maximum gift of $250K. GoFundMe will be making these gifts in regular increments to ensure that help is delivered quickly. The first $50,000 donation has already been made. We would like to thank all of the brave rescue workers and volunteers who are donating their time and resources to the relief efforts. Thank you, -The GoFundMe Team
