GoFundMe Remove Campaign for Gerald Stanley Reimbursedment for Legal Fees in Murder Trial

In August 2016, Coulton Boushie and four other Indigenous people drove onto Gerald Stanley’s property, looking for help with a flat tire. In anger, Stanley recklessly discharged his firearm, resulting in Coulton, who was asleep at the time, being shot in the back of the head. On February 9, 2018, an all white jury acquitted Stanley of Murder and even Manslaughter, which the law clearly states the charge should have been no less than.  A GoFundMe campaign was establised to pay the legal defense fees for Stanley. Not only does this go against GoFundMe's policy but it sends a clear and dangerous message to white supremacists: Kill and the same company who supplies money for heat to underserved schools and medicine to cancer patients will pay your legal fees.  This is a slap in the face to The Boushie/Baptiste Family, First Nations People, any one who has been denied the use of GFM to pay legal fees in the past, and EVERY good hearted person who has donated to improve the quality of life/save lives on this platform. It is important to also note that Stanley is also awaiting trial for gun charges and a retrial is in the works. The campaign further interferes with those trials. Go Fund Me should take the platform down, refund every bit of that money or divert it to anti-hate crime causes, and issue a public apology IMMEDIATELY.

Give In The Flesh a 90 Minute Special

We express our support for a 90 minute "In the Flesh" special as creator Dominic Mitchell suggested it. "In The Flesh" is not only an amazing, well-crafted TV show in every aspect, but has also had a huge positive impact in the lives, especially the mental health, of a great part of the fandom. It is not only an outstanding work of art. It is important beyond its artistic value. The characters, struggles, storylines and themes portrayed make it a masterpiece literally able to change lives. Since the BBC decided to cancel "In The Flesh" in January of 2015 after just two seasons, fans have campaigned for a third season for more than two year. We have organized multiple mass-tweet events and got various hashtags trending on twitter multiple times, we have created multiple petitions, generating almost 50.000 signatures on a petition calling for a third season, as well as a combined 70.000 signatures on two asking Amazon and Netflix to pick it up. We are calling to the BBC, BBC America, as well as every potential network, financier or person in a position to collaborate with Dominic Mitchell to facilitate and create a 90 minute "In The Flesh" special: "In the Flesh" fans want closure. We will support a 90 minute special in every way. Please consider the dedication of the fandom and the importance of "In The Flesh" and create a 90 minute special.

Waive your service fees to help the victims of the earthquake in Nepal

Every cent counts when people donate money to help the victims of a natural disaster. I am from Nepal, and I need your help to make sure every dollar donated to Nepalese earthquake victims actually gets to the people who need it. Thousands of well-wishers are opening their pocketbooks in solidarity with the overseas Nepalese community to help raise funds for the victims of this weeks devastating earthquake in Nepal. Most of the fundraising efforts have been through crowdfunding platforms like Indiegogo, GoFundMe and Crowdrise which have helped raise thousands of dollars to date. Yet, not every dollar is going to the victims. While these platforms are convenient, they levy processing fees that vary between 3 and 9%. In this time of dire need, we request Indiegogo and Crowdrise to show support and let 100% of donations directly benefit the earthquake victims in Nepal. The Nepalese government has declared a state of emergency after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck central the country this week. The earthquake has caused extensive damage and the number of people confirmed dead has topped 4,000 and is steadily rising as officials get information from the rugged countryside that makes up most of Nepal. The survivors and relief organizations need every dollar donated to help aid in the relief efforts, take care of the wounded and begin to rebuild a country whose major cities have been left in ruin.   That’s why the global community is requesting Indiegogo and Crowdrise to stand in solidarity  with the victims of this natural disaster so that all donations can directly benefit the earthquake victims in Nepal. The international support for earthquake relief in Nepal has been overwhelming and we are very grateful for the assistance from foreign nations, organizations and businesses. Several foreign businesses such as Google, Facebook, Viber, Skype, AT&T and T-Mobile have showed support by providing tools to locate missing individuals, mark missing individuals as safe and make telephone calls to and from Nepal for free. Help us request Indiegogo and Crowdrise to chip in too. Join me and thousands of Nepalese living overseas and request they waive their service fees for donations towards the earthquake victims in Nepal. Thank You.

Waive your service fees to help the victims of the ongoing drought in Horn of Africa

Close to 12 million are affected by the drought ravaging in the Horn of Africa. Hunger, malnutrition and death threaten 6.5 million children in the impoverished drylands of Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya due to back-to-back droughts. Every day, another child becomes an orphan. Just two days ago, over 100 people died in a tiny village in southern Somalia. This drought is reminiscent of the 2011 drought in East Africa where over 260,000 people were killed. In this time of dire need, we request GoFundMe to show support and let 100% of donations directly benefit the drought victims in the Horn of Africa. The victims and relief organisations need every penny donated to help aid in the relief efforts and take care of the malnourished. That’s why the global community is requesting GoFundMe to stand in solidarity with the victims of this devastating drought so that all donations can directly benefit the drought victims in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. Join thousands of East Africans living overseas to kindly request GoFundMe to waive their service fees for donations towards the droughts victims in Horn of Africa and me.

Demand GoFundMe to shut down Myeshia Johnson's misleading fundraiser

Myeshia Johnson has created a fundraiser on the popular fundraising site, GoFundMe. After the death of her husband in Niger, Africa, she is raising money to assist in paying for the future college education of her children, as she has stated in the details seen on the fundraising page, which is located here Sadly, enough, the American people (and all other people of the world, actually) are being misled by what appears to be a pathetic money grab by an opportunistic individual. What the creator of this fundraiser is failing to inform everyone of is the fact that the college education of all of her children is already covered by the SOF Warrior Foundation. Furthermore, she and the children have full military benefits, and the children have free medical until the age of 26. She is also receiving the sum of $400,000 for the death of her husband. The children will also receive SSI until the age of 18. This fundraiser appears to be an unforgiveable act of greed, and should not be permitted to stand. The $700,000+ that has already been raised should be returned to the donors, ASAP. As I understand it, there has already been a fundraiser to assist with funeral details that netted $927,000. I am not aware if that one was closed successfully, or if the fundraising site shut it down and returned donations, as they should do with this one. I have hopes that everyone who reads this will do the right thing, and sign AND SHARE this petition with everyone that you know. THIS NEEDS TO GO VIRAL. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Have a great day, wherever you may be!

Our son is being kept from us because I'm transgender. Help us bring him back home.

We are the parents of an amazing five-year-old. For the past year and a half, he has been kept from us by my partner's family because I am transgender. When my fiancee has tried to get him back and begged to know why they weren't letting her see her son, they said, "because you've got him hanging around that fruitfly."They were welcoming and supportive of our relationship until they found out I was trans. Then it bothered them that this little boy started calling me "daddy." This was a point made when they took us to court for emergency custody two weeks after we finally got him back from them. I was outed in that courtroom - personal details (and several untruths) about my life on display for everyone in the courtroom who already gathered because they believed (thanks to church, the news, and the bathroom bills) that trans people are pedophiles. The aunt and uncle won emergency custody despite our affidavits detailing their abuse - us witnessing them pointing a gun at my partner and at her son on Christmas, them admitting to us that they told him we were dead, his own testimonies to us that they told him we "left because [he] was bad" and that they made him hide in the bathroom when my partner showed up with law enforcement and her lawyer to pick him up "so we wouldn't go to jail."This was five months ago, and we are still awaiting an investigation. In the meantime, they will not allow any visitation through any means to my partner. They forbade his school from allowing her to eat lunch with him or even buy a yearbook with his picture in it. They refuse to answer emails, calls, or texts. My partner didn't lose parental rights to her child, but she isn't being allowed visitation or so much as an update on his well-being. I have held her every single day for five months while she sobbed and grieved her child who is still alive. I helped her redecorate his room to surprise him when he gets to come home, and I find her in there often just looking at his things and writing letters to him. I have watched her heart break on Halloween when she saw dozens of kids in costumes but didn't get a picture of him (which she had at least gotten from her uncle last year), on Thanksgiving when she had no family to be thankful for because they all betrayed her to take her son, and crying into the phone on Christmas when she called and got no answer (because this was her first Christmas without her son - we drove down to SC last year to try to bring him home and were threatened with legal action, but at least we were together). There are so many details that I can't share because this is such a controversial legal case and I want to protect my partner and our son at all costs, but I can say this: my fiancee is an incredible mother. She is selfless, and her only flaw was trusting the people who she believed had her and her son's best interest at heart. She is the strongest person I've ever met. I love him like he were my own, and I am so honored that he considers me his other parent. I have worked with kids since I was 16, and I mean him no harm. We adore this little boy. Our family, our friends, our church, our coworkers all know it. We have a 2 bedroom home with everything he needs. We have no violent or criminal pasts hindering us from giving him a good life. We are sober, professional, and have passed numerous background checks to work with other children. It isn't fair that we don't have our own.As for our son, he is our superhero. He loves us both so immensely that it makes all this nightmare worthwhile to know that we have someone counting on us so much. He is so open minded and curious about the world. He is tolerant of all kinds of people, wise beyond his years, kind and good in every way. He is our greatest blessing, and we will keep fighting for him and for our family. Will you stand with us and sign and share our petition?

Please lower the fees and charges to 2.9% instead of 7.9% for all the fundraisers related to Nepal's earthquake relief.

An earthquake of 7.8 rector scale hit near Lamjung Nepal. The death toll is about 4,000 already and is sure to increase. This is a very unfortunate situation and we need a lot of fund to manage shelter, water, medicine, food, clothes, and sanitation for the survivors. A lot of fund raising activities to help the victims are going viral now. Most of the fundraising activities are being done using "". Millions of dollars are being raised now. Go fund me charges about 7.9% fees and charges for the donation raised. That's a lot of money. That money can certainly be used to help more victims with their basic needs. Therefore, I urge to minimze the fees to 2.9% flat so that the fund can be maximized to help the needy people. Here is the list of fees "Go Fund Me" charges: 5% (Go fund me) +2.9% +$0.30 per donation. This is what we want: 0% (Go Fund Me) +2.9% + 0.00 per donation. We urge everyone to sign this petition so that "Go Fund Me" will be able to waive the fees so that we can have more fund to help the needy ones. The world community is coming together to help Nepal in this tragic sitution. This is the time for "" to come up with the plan with open heart so that more people get benefitted. Please sign the petition. Thanks, Pradip Dhakal

Waive GoFundMe fees for Redwood Complex Fire & Sulphur fire victims

Dear GoFundMe, California wildfires have ripped through our community and yet, somehow, we still take a backseat to other fires miles away. Cast out by the media, our suffering is no less than anyone else's. Our families and friends are left devasted, homes lost, loved ones no longer with us. Please waive your 8% fee for the people who have created these accounts in order to pick up the pieces of their lives. We appreciate your support and understanding. Forever hopeful, Northern California

Waive your service fees to help the victims of the earthquake in Nepal

To all those affected by the terrible earthquakes in Nepal, the GoFundMe Team is thinking of you. We’ve worked rapidly to create the ‘Nepal Earthquake Relief‘ category and continue to work diligently to scan and review the thousands of campaigns that have been created to aid victims and send relief. This has been our #1 priority. Now, we’re announcing that GoFundMe will be donating back its 5% fee from all donations made to campaigns within our ‘Nepal’ category to AmeriCares. We believe that AmeriCares is best positioned to make an immediate impact by delivering aid packages of medical relief supplies to all of those displaced by the earthquakes. At the time of this announcement, over $1.5M has been raised within the ‘Nepal Earthquake Relief’ category. We’re able to keep our pledge for the first $5M raised in the category, for a maximum gift of $250K. GoFundMe will be making these gifts in regular increments to ensure that help is delivered quickly. The first $50,000 donation has already been made. We would like to thank all of the brave rescue workers and volunteers who are donating their time and resources to the relief efforts. Thank you, -The GoFundMe Team
