Glenn Allen Hegar Jr. is an influential American attorney and politician from Texas, born in 1970. He currently holds the position of Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, a role he assumed on January 2, 2015, succeeding fellow Republican Susan Combs. Hegar's political career includes serving as a Republican member of both the Texas Senate, representing the 18th District west of Houston, and the Texas House of Representatives.
