Gilbert Villegas is an American politician and a dedicated public servant, currently serving as the alderperson for Chicago's 36th ward, which encompasses areas such as Belmont-Cragin, Galewood, Hermosa, Humboldt Park, Montclare, and Portage Park. A member of the Democratic Party, Villegas has a rich background in public administration and development. Before his tenure on the Chicago City Council, he was the Chief of Staff at the Illinois Capital Development Board. His career also includes roles as Deputy Director of the Office of Business and Workforce Diversity at the Illinois Department of Transportation and Associate Director at the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association. An alumnus of Northeastern Illinois University, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and is a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
