The G20, or Group of 20, is an international forum for governments and central bank governors from 19 nations and the European Union. Founded in 1999, the institution aims to discuss policy matters pertaining to the promotion of international financial stability. It comprises 19 individual countries—including key economic players such as the United States, China, India, and the United Kingdom— together with the European Union. The members represent about 80 percent of the world's economic output, two-thirds of the global population, and three-quarters of international trade. The G20 meetings, held annually, are attended by heads of state, finance ministers, and central bank governors to shape global economic policy.
