FIFA

FIFA, or the International Federation of Association Football, is the governing body of international soccer. Originating in Paris in 1904, FIFA oversees regulations, organization, and development of soccer worldwide. The organization is renowned for hosting the prestigious FIFA World Cup every four years, a tournament where the best national teams from different parts of the globe compete for the title of World Champion. FIFA also governs numerous other tournaments at professional, amateur, and youth levels globally. Upholding the sport's integrity, FIFA sets the Laws of the Game, conducts doping controls, and manages the football's world ranking system.
