European Parliament

The European Parliament serves as the legislative branch of the European Union (EU), a multinational entity that currently encompasses 27 European countries. Established in 1952, it is a directly elected institution comprising 705 members representing the diverse population of EU nations. Its key roles include debating and passing European laws, scrutinizing other European institutions to ensure democratic accountability, determining the EU's budget, and serving as a platform for European citizens' views.
