Elissa Slotkin is an American politician and former intelligence analyst who has been serving as the U.S Representative for Michigan's 8th Congressional District since 2019. Prior to her involvement in politics, she had a prominent career in the Central Intelligence Agency and the Department of Defense, providing insight on national security issues under Presidents George W. Bush and Barrack Obama. With an educational background in international relations, she exemplifies knowledge and experience in public service, which she uses to advocate for affordable healthcare, safe environment, good jobs and excellent public schools in her legislative pursuits. She is a member of the Democratic Party.
