ECOWAS

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a regional political and economic union of fifteen countries located in West Africa. Established on May 28, 1975, the union was created to promote economic integration, peace, and political stability across member states. ECOWAS facilitates various economic and developmental projects including ensuring free movement of goods and people, monitoring democratic elections, and promoting regional cooperation. The organization operates in a range of sectors including agriculture, transportation, and energy, working towards the upliftment of West Africa.
