Derek Norton is a dedicated public servant with a strong background in government relations and local politics. He holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business from the University of Georgia and a high school diploma from Sprayberry High School. Norton's career spans various influential roles, including serving as Vice President of Governmental Affairs at the Atlanta and Georgia Apartment Associations and as Director of Government Relations at the Medical Association of Georgia. He also worked on Capitol Hill as a DC Legislative Staff and Senate Field Director for U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson. Currently, Norton serves as the Mayor of Smyrna, Georgia, after previously representing Ward 1 on the Smyrna City Council. His comprehensive experience reflects his commitment to public service and community development.
