Corte Costituzionale

The Corte Costituzionale, or the Constitutional Court, is the supreme authority in Italy responsible for ensuring the constitutionality of laws. It serves as a safeguard to maintain the balance of power and rights, impeding any legislative, executive, or judicial overreaches. The court, comprised of fifteen judges appointed by the President, Parliament, and Supreme Courts, primarily handles cases involving constitutional legitimacy posed by state organs or regional bodies. Its precedence-based rulings are binding and cannot be appealed, ensuring strict adherence to the Italian Constitution.
