Cori Anika Bush is an American politician, nurse, pastor, and activist who has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Missouri's 1st congressional district since 2021. Born in 1976, she is a prominent member of the Democratic Party and a well-known Black Lives Matter activist. The district she represents includes the entire city of St. Louis and most of northern St. Louis County. Bush co-founded The Truth Telling Project and has worked as a registered nurse and child care worker. She is a graduate of Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School. Her diverse background in healthcare, activism, and leadership positions her as a passionate advocate for social justice and community empowerment.
