Hold drug dealers accountable for Fentanyl or drug related deaths that they have caused

I just lost my 15 yr old beautiful, bright, bubbly , compassionate daughter Olivia Green, Easter morning to a Fentanyl  overdose...She was influenced by an adult to do something bad and lost her life because of it..Drug dealers are lacing street drugs with Fentanyl to make their drug more powerful to increase their profit off of sales...One tiny amount of any laced drug can cause death...I will never in my life see Olivias beautiful face again...She will never have her Sweet 16 that she looked forward to, she will never go off to College and become the Marine Biologist that she always wanted to be...And she will never have the opportunity to grow up period...Her life is gone forever and Olivia is nothing but a memory  now which breaks my heart every day..Her siblings  lost their sister, my youngest son who is 8 yrs old and has Autism lost his one and only friend in the world and I lost my precious daughter... Please sign it....Trust me there WILLLLLL be more Olivia's!!!!..There will be more dealers PURPOSELY lacing these street drugs with Fentanyl to get you as high as they can so you can be their repeat customers even though they know it can kill you..Your little $5 is more important to them than your life..There will also be more evil people like the adult that influenced Olivia to do something bad and kept giving her more till she layed down and died in front of him ...NOBODY will be charged in my baby's death...NOBODY ...You want to know why?...Because there is NO LAW that will give her justice, not in my city and not in many other states and cities...There will be more dead children and noone will be held accountable...This was a murder from both the guy who sold it in these streets and the guy who kept giving it to her...One is free to live his life and other one will probably get nothing but a simple drug charge..We need change but it won't come if we don't demand it!! . All life is precious but when children are also dying from this drug epidemic it hurts and it hurts BAD...I want there to be a Law in NY called "Olivia's Law" to bring justice to young children like Olivia as well as adults who lose their life to these illegal street drugs...Olivia may never get her justice but her story will bring Awareness and hopefully a new law put into place so that justice is served for anyone after her who may tragically lose their life in the same way...Olivia's Law is needed..Justice is needed and accountability is needed..We cannot continue to lose people to this horrible drug and opioid epidemic and not have people held responsible for the death they caused Thank you Despina Prodromidis  Mother of Olivia Green  Forever 15

Stop Azerbaijan's attack on Armenia!

The people of Armenia are at great risk due to the aggression of Azerbaijan. Here's what's going on, why it is important, and how you can help! Conflict in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border has been ongoing for years, however on July 12, Azerbaijani soldiers attempted to capture the locality of the Armenian border nearby Tavush (a violation of the state border of Armenia).  This attempt ended in failure, with two Azerbaijani soldiers dead, few injured, and the need to retreat. This event has caused an outbreak of conflict between the Azerbaijani and Armenian people, and each country's militia. Since this first attack, Azerbaijan continued to attack Armenia in several ways such as: bombing an Armenian mask company, taking Armenian citizen Narek Sardaryan hostage (this is breaking international law), and firing mortars on Armenian village, Chinari, causing damage to homes. Additionally, Azerbaijani's went on protest and urged for war against the Republic of Armenia, while insisting to take over the Armenian capital, Yerevan, and Armenian city Shushi. Furthermore, the clashing of the Armenian and Azerbaijani militias resulted in 16 casualties on both sides. Additionally, racism has taken part due to these attacks, as Azerbaijani protesters in cities such as Moscow chant words/phrases of hate speech such as "Death to the Armenian", causing endangerment to Armenian people throughout the world. To ensure the safety of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people, please sign this petition to get US Congress alerted to get involved and put a stop to Azerbaijan's aggression toward Armenia. Additionally, speak up about what is happening between Armenia and Azerbaijan so the public is aware of what is happening. Since the Armenian Genocide (Turkey's attempt to wipe out the Armenian people in hopes to pursue "Islamization" and "Turkification" in 1915), the Armenian people deserve to know that the world is on their side and will not allow any harm done to them as it was done in 1915.  Since the world is in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the media has no focus on this issue, so it is vital that word gets out about this conflict in order to ease tensions and to stop the beginning of a war between the countries of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Tell Emory University to stop torturing nonhuman primates!

Yerkes National Primate Research Center is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is one of the largest primate testing facilities WORLDWIDE. Their labs contain around 4,000 nonhuman primates (as well as thousands of other animals, such as guinea pigs, hamsters, and mice).  These animals are separated from their mothers at birth and isolated in small barren cages. They’re inflicted with diseases, forced to take drugs, made to endure painful operations and experiments while completely conscious, injected with and force fed chemicals to test toxicity, restrained while lesions are cut into their brains and electrodes are implanted in them, blinded, starved, and suffocated. Can you imagine what it would be like to be in their position? There is no such thing as an illegal experiment on animals in the US. Our tax dollars fund these horrible experiments. The NIH itself has said that 95% of experiments found safe and effective in animals fail in human trials because they don’t work or dangerous. For Covid-19, countless animals, including mice and primates have been tested on. Mice don’t contract it naturally so they must be genetically engineered to get it. Neither develop severe symptoms. This is a waste of lives, money, and time. COVID-19 has left us with a golden opportunity to reimagine the way we approach science. The Animal Welfare Act is the only US federal law that sets standards for feeding, housing, handling, and veterinary care- but allows experimenters to restrain, burn, shock, poison, isolate, starve, mutilate and inflict brain damage on animals. Painkillers are not required. Not only is this evil and inexcusable, but if there were a tornado, the facility could be ripped apart, exposing residents of the area to toxins and diseases. An escaped monkey could also kill a child, pet, or spread diseases. These animals do NOT belong here. This is sick and needs to end. Please forward this to friends and family. What YOU can do: -Ask Congress to cut NIH funding for these cruel experiments and redirect that money to fund modern, human relevant research methods. -Write legislators and newspaper editors- explain that animal research does not lead to cures for human diseases and ask  how taxpayers’ money can be justified when there are more accurate and successful testing methods today. -Download the cruelty free app and check that products are cruelty free and vegan before you buy them. -Write to your favorite companies, ask if they test on animals, and let them know oppose it. -Look up experiments on arlo.riseforanimals.org, then click search records. They have tens of thousands of documents obtained from open records requests and hundreds of pieces of information about different animal research labs.

Stop shark finning

Shark finning is a very brutal, cruel and torturous act done by humans.. It has been estimated that around 100 million sharks are killed per year and about 11,416 an hour! An entire shark is killed just to use about 3% of it for a bowl of soup!  With the average of only around 16 shark attacks per year on humans it shows that humans are In fact the more dangerous one.   sharks are very helpful for our oceans ecosystem and keep the ocean clean.  They help maintain the food chain of the species below them. Sharks help remove weak and sick creatures and that helps keep the balance with competitors which helps ensure species diversity. sharks also indirectly maintain coral reefs and sea grass and the loss of these creatures has led to a decline in coral reefs and sea grass beds as well as a loss of commercial fisheries. at the rate at which sharks are being killed they could soon be extinct. They play such a vital role in our oceans food chain and the decrease in these animals could trigger problems such as out of control algae and could also lead to the extinction of other animals such as scallops which rely on sharks to eat its predators. there are 480 species of sharks and still the fatal numbers on human attacks are still in the two-digit range. Sharks are important animals and again very helpful to our oceans. Shark finning needs to stop soon or these creatures will become instinct and our  oceans will take a turn for the worse.

Justice In Policing Act of 2020

While there are already tons of petitions regarding Police Brutality, this one is specifically to show support towards The Justice In Policing Act of 2020. An act that is a solid first step towards bringing about Police Reform and accountability. This act is currently being held from passing by members of the Senate who believe it is too radical, even though the act does not propose defunding the police. Judge for yourself and if you agree, sign and share showing your support.  To list a few issues The Justice In Policing Act tackles:  This act will prohibit racial, religious, and discriminatory profiling by police officers as well as mandating training on racial, religious, & discriminatory profiling for all law enforcement! It will also ban chokeholds, and no-knock warrants at the federal level as well as limiting the transfer of military-grade equipment to state and local law enforcement.  It will also reform the qualified immunity police officers have to make it easier for civilians to recover damages when the police violate their constitutional rights.  Establishes public safety innovation grants for community-based organizations to create local commissions and task forces to help communities to re-imagine and develop concrete, just, and equitable public safety approaches.  Among other things. -------------------------- This is meant to show Congress that we are aware and in support of this legislation. We as a people regardless of race/ethnicity want to see concrete change and not just empty promises. A big thanks to Congressional Black Caucus Chair Karen Bass, Senators Corey Booker, and Kamala Harris for introducing this Act.  This is for George Floyd, for Breonna Taylor, for Eric Garner, Rodney King, and all those who have lost their lives to Police Brutality. Their deaths will not be in vain.  Below Is a Link to the press release on the judiciary website if you want to read it through the entire legislation yourself. Press Release

Fair compensation and student loan forgiveness for emergency/healthcare workers

As you know America’s Health care workers are on the front line of a pandemic. A lot of us are already struggling with the repayment of student loans and have been working long hard hours away from our families in order to provide for them. We are doing our best to stay up to date on the ever changing guidelines and are fighting to keep educated on the latest advances in health care to ensure the best outcomes for our patients, this mostly, is on our own time.  EMS, Police, Nurses, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists, CNAs, Radiologists, Radiology techs, lab personnel..in fact everyone in the healthcare sector is affected. We need some help, we need some support and we need some assistance now in the form of student loan forgiveness, tax breaks and incentives for those literally putting our lives and our time on the line for America. We need assurance that the children we leave behind after this virus is extinguished will be financially cared for. We are facing life changing events and are told there is a possibility we will not have enough personal protective equipment in the future to keep ourselves and our patients safe. Please show that you support us and that you support our patients and families.

Stop cruel U.S. government primate experiments

Thank you to everyone who has signed this important White Coat Waste Project petition against taxpayer-funded animal testing. I’m proud to be leading efforts in Congress to address this issue. Because of your support and advocacy, I wanted to personally let you know that earlier this year I introduced the Animal Freedom from Testing, Experiments and Research (AFTER) Act (HR 2897). My bill, which has nearly 50 bipartisan cosponsors, requires federal agencies to have policies allowing dogs, cats, primates and other animals to be retired after government research and relocated to private homes, rescues or sanctuaries. This might seem like common sense to most of us, but currently over 50,000 regulated animals are confined in government laboratories and almost all will be killed when they are no longer needed for testing, even if they’re healthy. As soon as I learned about this disgrace, I took action. I’m happy to report that we’re already making historic progress. After hearing from my colleagues and I and countless advocates, the National Institutes of Health—the nation’s leading funder of animal testing—adopted a policy allowing many species of animals from its labs to be retired after research. I also supported legislation that helped persuade the U.S. Department of Agriculture to end deadly testing on kittens and adopt out the cats to loving homes. And we’ve compelled the Food and Drug Administration to cancel nicotine tests on monkeys and send them to a sanctuary. My AFTER Act would ensure that every government agency does the same and gives animals the second chance they deserve. I’ve been working to end animal testing since first coming to Congress and am so proud of these advances to protect animals and end unnecessary government animal tests. I’m also incredibly honored that for this work I was presented with a “Congressional Waste Warrior” award by White Coat Waste Project in 2017. Thank you for supporting our important work to end outdated and unnecessary taxpayer-funded animal testing and save animals’ lives. Your advocacy is crucial to advancing our efforts in Congress to win reforms for animals. Sincerely, Congressman Brendan F. Thank you for supporting our important work to end outdated and unnecessary taxpayer-funded animal testing and save animals’ lives. Your advocacy is crucial to advancing our efforts in Congress to win reforms for animals. Sincerely, Congressman Brendan F. Dogs need your help! Tell Congress to stop cruel taxpayer-funded experiments.
