Congress of the Philippines

The Congress of the Philippines is the legislative branch of the Philippine government, holding primary responsibility for enacting laws in the country. It is a bicameral institution, composed of two houses— the Senate, which is the upper house hosting 24 senators elected at large, and the House of Representatives, the lower house with around 300 members. These members of the House represent legislative districts and sectors, as well as party lists. The two houses of Congress convene separately but work together to pass bills that become enforceable laws once approved by the President of the Philippines.
