The Cámara de Diputados de Chile is the lower house of Chile's bicameral National Congress. It is comprised of 155 members who are elected from 28 multi-member districts for a four-year term. Its central role is to participate in the creation of laws alongside the Senate and the President of the Republic. Other responsibilities include controlling the actions of the government, especially finances and budgets, and serving as a bridge between the citizens and the state.
