Bundeskanzlerin

Bundeskanzlerin is the German term for female Federal Chancellor, the head of government in Germany. Essentially equivalent to a prime minister, the Bundeskanzlerin's role encompasses the leadership of the government, policy making, and representing Germany both domestically and globally. As the chief executive, she takes on significant responsibilities such as proposing cabinet members, leading her political party, and facing the German Parliament, known as the Bundestag. The first and so far only person to hold the office of Bundeskanzlerin is Angela Merkel, who served from 2005 to 2021.
