Brandon Sakbun is a dedicated professional with a strong background in both education and military service. He graduated from Terre Haute South High School and furthered his education by earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Indiana University. Brandon has served his country in the US Army and the Indiana Army National Guard, where he gained valuable leadership and organizational skills. In addition to his military service, he has experience in education as a substitute teacher with Kelly Education. He is the current mayor of Terre Haute, Indiana, having won the mayoral election in November 2023. Sakbun, a member of the Democratic Party, defeated long-time incumbent Duke Bennett with a significant margin, becoming the youngest and first person of color to hold this office in the city's history
