Adam Gomez is a political figure serving as the Massachusetts State Senator for the Hampden District, which includes Springfield and Chicopee. A lifelong resident of western Massachusetts, he is affiliated with the Democratic Party. Gomez made history by becoming the first state senator of Puerto Rican descent in Massachusetts. Prior to his Senate role, he served on the Springfield City Council and worked as a community organizer. He advocates for social justice issues such as criminal justice reform and immigrant rights. As a senator, Gomez chairs the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities and has sponsored several landmark bills addressing equity and social welfare.
