Support Our Nature Conservation Project! Make Unwin Street a Green Street!
The issue
To the Mayor and Councillors of Canterbury Bankstown City Council (NSW), the NSW Minister for Planning and the Shadow Minister for Planning.
“We ask that you support and facilitate the transfers of land needed to make our vision of Unwin Green Street a reality.
We are seeking the transfer of several small vacant state-owned blocks in Unwin Street adjacent to Wolli Creek Regional Park to implement this green street project linking two prominent State and Council-identified green corridors (Wolli Creek Corridor and Cooks River Corridor).
Six blocks would go to CBCity, three for addition to Waterworth Park and three for revegetation and management by Council and local community groups. A further two blocks would be added to the Wolli Creek Regional Park.”
This is a proposal developed jointly by the Unwin St resident action group and the Wolli Creek Preservation Society (WCPS).
