Doug Ford and his government are taking steps to move to an American-style, for-profit, private healthcare system.

This means that we'll all have to negotiate private insurance to get the care we need - and this can become a problem if we're self-employed, retired, or between jobs.

In the event you lose your job, do you want to have to decide between your retirement savings or a hospital visit? Keeping the lights on or minor surgery? In the United States, medical bills are the number 1 reason people go bankrupt. 

Yes, our system needs fixing right now - but putting that in the hands of for-profit companies is a cop out.

Let's remind his government that public health care is one of the reasons Canada is a great country. It keeps all of us safe and healthy.

Dear Doug Ford and other MPPs: Public health care is important to us. Hands off.
