Kennedy's example can be used to remind people of the peaceful resolution of an international nuclear confrontation in the Cuban Missile Crisis. For this purpose, the “Sponsoring Association of the GetUp GrassrootMovement e.V.” produced this interactive postcard: "Open letter to Chancellor Scholz"

Dear Chancellor Olaf Scholz,

We would like to thank you and all government/parliament members who clearly said “No!” in the TAURUS question on March 14, 2024. 

In doing so, you followed John F. Kennedy. After the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, he declared:

"Above all, nuclear powers must avert confrontations"

This guiding principle was followed by the détente policy of Willy Brandt, Egon Bahr, Mikhail Gorbachev... 
This détente policy Germany has to thank for the peaceful reunification of 1990 and the Ukraine for its freedom. This now is believed, it must be defended by weapons.

We cordially ask you and all supporting government/parliament members, please continue following Kennedy. Avoid further escalation. 
According to Kennedy, anything else “would be evidence only of bankruptcy of our policy or of a collective death-wish for the world”.

"For a new détente policy - NOW!"
