Olaf Scholz is a prominent German politician serving as the Chancellor of Germany since December 2021. Previously, he was a vice-chancellor and Minister of Finance in Angela Merkel's government from March 2018 to December 2021. Scholz is a member of the Social Democratic Party, for which he served as the First Mayor of Hamburg from 2011 to 2018. Born in 1958 in Osnabrück, Scholz studied law at the University of Hamburg. Known for his pragmatic and meticulous approach to politics, he is often noted for his expertise in finance and economic matters.
