Compensation for Royal Holloway University of London Students

Compensation for Royal Holloway University of London Students

The Issue

The Students at the Royal Holloway University request that the University provide them with financial compensation for the national lockdown restrictions which have left student accommodations empty whilst we are still paying for them as well as reduction in learning quality.

This is the second lockdown to take place this academic year!

Students are losing out on the contact hours, including tutorials, that they need at this crucial time due to online learning - causing a detrimental impact on assignments, exam preparation and final year dissertation work.

This is not good enough for £9250/year.

We stand by national restrictions given the circumstances we face as a country. However for students and parents it is has caused increased frustration, confusion and left many with a lack of wellbeing help. We therefore urge the University to try to resolve this ongoing issue.

If the university continues to expect us to pay for accommodation costs as well as the tuition fee currently, students expect financial compensation for the circumstances we face. Other universities are considering compensating their students, and so should ours!
