Let's show our WISS PRIDE with a Pride Month Flag Raising!

LGBTQIA+ students are more likely to experience victimization and violence in school, and are at higher risk of suicide than their peers. Data shows that 43% of transgender youth have been bullied on school property, and that 29% of transgender youth, 21% of gay and lesbian youth, and 22% of bisexual youth have attempted suicide. This is more than twice the rate of suicide attempts among US teens, due to increased societal and relationship challenges these students face.

During June  districts around the country (including neighboring Upper Dublin School District) are showing support for LGBTQIA+ students by raising a flag celebrating love, diversity, acceptance, and PRIDE! 

We want all students to be in an environment where they feel accepted, valued, and respected. Let's take this opportunity to affirm WISS PRIDE extends to ALL by showing unwavering support for this student population.
