Dave & Busters - Offer Vegan Options on Menu at Locations Nationwide in 2024!

The Issue

Kids love spending time with friends at arcades like Dave & Busters. However, the lack of vegan options often leaves kids with special diets feeling excluded during birthday parties held there due to their dietary restrictions. We believe that every child should have access to food they can eat and enjoy, regardless of their lifestyle choices or dietary needs.

Dave & Busters is a popular entertainment venue with over 130 locations across the United States. Yet despite this widespread presence and diverse customer base, the chain does not currently offer clearly labeled vegan options on its menu. This oversight not only affects those who choose a vegan lifestyle but also those with certain health conditions or religious beliefs that restrict their diet.

Adding a plant-based burger on the menu as an option to swap for another burger did not fix this issue, as every handheld contains milk and some contain egg. It's been said that this burger is prepared on shared equipment with meat, deeming this menu option not suitable for vegans. Most of the sides contain milk including the fries, too.

Vegans want to be certain that animal products are not getting mixed into their food. Vegans tend to prefer that their food is prepared on clean or separate surfaces from animal products. Having a designated grill and/or fryer space can reduce risk of cross contamination and help people who follow a vegan diet to confidently dine in at this establishment, with an equal opportunity as everyone else to eat.

According to The Vegan Society, there are approximately 9.7 million people in the U.S who follow a plant-based diet (source: The Vegan Society). By failing to cater to this significant demographic, Dave & Busters is missing out on an opportunity to broaden its appeal and increase its customer base. There are also many children who have allergies to dairy and egg, which is why we insist that Dave & Busters have designated vegan menu items.

We urge Dave & Busters board of directors to recognize the growing demand for inclusive dining options in 2024 by implementing clearly labeled vegan offerings across all their locations nationwide. This simple change would make dining at Dave & Busters more accessible for everyone - including vegan children - while also demonstrating respect for diversity in dietary choices.

Please sign this petition if you believe in making dining experiences enjoyable for all customers regardless of their dietary preferences or restrictions.
