Pets are part of our family. She is healthy, happy and loved. Leave her alone there are so many animals that need your resources from conditions that are inhumane. This pig is sleeping in a home in a bed and eating food

I am in full support of this petition. I have had the pleasure of spending time with Stevie on numerous occasions. She has been to my home several times for visits with me and my children. Stevie is the sweetest, friendliest, and actually very calm pig. She poses no threat whatsoever to anyone or anything. She is wonderful with my children, she’s great with people and other animals. She is extremely loved and very well taken care (spoiled) by her family and it’s devastating for me to think of her being ripped from them. Please, I urge you to please update your laws, open your eyes and heart and see that there is no threat here, no real justified reason to have a law preventing miniature pigs as household pets, but even more.. part of a loving family.

I have three potbelly pigs and I love each of them very much. People often overlook pigs as pets and don't understand that these incredible animals become crucial members of your family

Pigs are beyond smart. They have the brain development of a small child and have a strong emotional attachment to their FAMILY. Taking that pig away from its family would cause severe depression! (And I’m not even talking about the family members.) My Juliana pig is five years old, and she sits by the door, just like a dog or a child waiting for her family to come home. She gets excited to be around family. She snuggles with my nine-year-old son every day. You want to take away a family member because of land issues? They have a house! They have a yard! That pig is not better off anywhere, but with its FAMILY! It it’s not livestock, it’s not a farm animal, it’s a sibling and a family member. Treat Stevie as such!!!

Just like cats and dogs, pigs create strong emotional attachments to their families and vice versa . Allowing people to own a pig as a pet in your city can help those interested obtain support , and love , and emotional comfort , as well as fulfill any feelings of lack of purpose, and can create lasting improvements on the quality of not only the human owners life but the pet pigs as well . Win win situation. I might add they are much smarter and easier to train then a dog!

I paid over 20k in real estate taxes so I do not have to live in Essex or Hudson county. We chose this area for a reason. The financiers behind these developments wouldn't let their own neighborhood be changed so drastically. Leave it to the cities. Not the towns. Over development is blight. It's cancer. And the people paying the most in taxes are getting screwed with less value for our money.

I have worked in the trucking industry for almost 25 years. While the industry is in critical need of safe parking for drivers delivering all the things we consume every single day, this Frenchtown exit is not the place. In addition to the many valid issues mentioned, a truck stop of this size would put so much strain on our small community. Safety and infrastructure (water, sewer, roads, garbage that doesn’t always make it into dumpsters, etc.) are just the start. The congestion and awkward intersection would be an almost immediate turnoff to most drivers and poses a huge safety risk to motorists and pedestrians. While I have the utmost respect for drivers, there are so many that do not play by the rules under a system that is horribly broken that any benefit this project would bring would be overshadowed by the downfall of issues it would bring. Town Pump is no doubt a good neighbor in the many communities it operates, the same cannot be universally said for all that frequent its locations. With proximity to schools and few amenities to tide over a DOT break or more, I oppose this project in this location.
