It would be a tragedy if this space is lost to future generations of young people. Many young people in Newham have few opportunities to escape the city and experience a different way of life. I hope the Council will change its mind so that the campsite can be saved.

My children and I shared some wonderful memories of this campsite. It would really be a shame to see it go. It would take away a perfectly good opportunity for young members of the public to explore nature and teaching themselves life skills.

The Alan Pullinger Centre was an integral part of my youth growing up in Southgate in the 1980s and 90s. It remains a key hub for the community and is even more important today than in my time, given the many more dangerous influences on today's youth.
