signed from amherst, Ohio only an hour away. 31 years old and autoimmine/intestinal issues myself. the creator reminds me a lot of myself with my first colonosopy being at 17. time to change this!
I grew up outside of Luckey, in the country, and in town for a total of 18 years. I have dealt with Gastrointestinal issues since a I was a teenager, and has worsened immensely throughout the years. Without going through each horrific procedure and test I endured, along with countless medications that never work, I ended up with a permanent Ileostomy bag, and am only 51 years old, as of 2025.
Not only have I endure personal pain, I have dealt with the pain of loss, as I lost my father at the age of 63. He lived in Luckey growing up, outside Luckey, and passed in his home, he worked so hard for at a young age and never had the chance to fully enjoy life. He was not the only family that lost their life to cancer, my grandfather, who lived in Luckey his whole life, died of colon cancer, as did my other grandfather, who lived outside of Luckey. I have also lost friends, who were my age, pass in their late 30’s from cancer.
In conclusion, I’d like to state, that the injustice and unfairness that my quality of life and the life of others has faced is devastating.
My family lived in the Hoelter addition on Wayne street in Luckey, Ohio for 40+ years. My sibs and I personally know of so many of our former neighbors who either had and or died of cancer right in our immediate neighborhood area. This seems like it is a much higher rate than the national average. Answers would be nice.
Two friends in Luckey (?) 120 ft from each other . They both got diagnosed with cancer recently . They’re well
water table is in the same area .
Adult males . One is my son in law !!
I’m angry 😡 and scared for them . They have families .
I want to scream from the rooftops !!
How could this have been ignored for so long !!!!!!
I grew up in a small town in Ohio. Many families that I grew up with, including my own, have been torn apart by rare cancers. We deserve better. We need accountability, and action.
every young person I know including myself are getting diagnosed with chronic illnesses & auto immune issues, cancer, heart problems, POTS. I live in Ohio. We deserve better.
