Having come to Rice for the past 3 years, it’s been made apparent to me how we’re lacking in some resources for infant care. It’s my hope that we can raise our voices in unison and to talk about the importance of infant care on campus with as many people as we can!!!
I've been at WNE for as long as Bear has, and I've never been more disappointed in this university than I am right now. I'm a commuter so I never saw him a lot, but on the few occasions I did he was always smiling with Officer Ally and to try and tear him away from his family is horrible.
The love and bond between a dog and their handler is unmatched, and can be truly detrimental if broken. A dog is not a piece of equipment, a dog is a dog. But often times, a dog is more than that. A dog is a companion, an unconditional loving friend, a family member. Taking Bear away from Ally and her family would be devastating to not only the family, but to Bear too! It’s the only family he’s ever known.
I work at Northampton Vet Clinic and have seen Bear’s relationship with his handler. They truly love and care about Bear and his health concerns. They should stay together as a family.
Bear is such a sweet boy, and he belongs to Ally and her family. WNE has no right to separate Bear from her. As much as students like me LOVE having Bear, we know it’s best for him to be with his family. There’s no reason WNE couldn’t get another comfort dog while Bear and Ally start a new chapter of their lives. WNE please do the right thing
Officer Ally has trained, loved and cared for Bear all of his life. I don’t need to know the officer personally, or WNEU, for that matter. As a dog owner I know that you shouldn’t seperate Bear from the family at home that loves him. I don’t even care what the contract does or doesn’t say. DO THE RIGHT THING BY THE DOG - he’s the one who will be hurt the most if the wrong decision is made.
Bear has comforted me many times, and as a pet sitter, I can tell you that I’ve witnessed Bear’s anxiety first hand. Even though he’s great at his job, I can tell he is very sensitive and would not do well at all if separated from his human. Keep Bear home ♥️
My dog was a retired K9 and the bond he had with my dad, his handler, was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. My dad was his person and were never apart from each other so I know how important it is to keep handlers and their dog together they’ve been through so much and have a bond that looks like it’s from a movie. Keep them together they need each other.
