I care about this because the stress of school is overpowering and having an extra day of rest would be extremely beneficial for the health of all students.

Forcing students to choose between their education and their traditions is unfair and unacceptable. Schools already accommodate holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah, Eid, and Lunar New Year—Tibetan students deserve the same respect and recognition.
Recognizing Losar is not just about fairness; it is about equity and inclusion. Failing to do so marginalizes an entire community and disregards the values of diversity the school claims to uphold. We urge the administration to take immediate action to ensure that Tibetan students can celebrate their heritage without academic consequences.
