As someone who is world class at clock, I am directly affected by this decision. It is devastating to see my main event go, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. I don't think that it makes sense to remove clock just because it is not a "spectator-friendly" event, or that it would go against the WCA's strategic plan. The vast majority of competitions are small local competitions with few spectators. Clock is the most beginner-friendly event in the WCA, so wouldn't removing it make the WCA less accessible? I appreciate the WCA for being open to add new events, but not at the cost of removing others. I think that this is a big mistake by the WCA, and I hope that this gets reverted soon.

Many world class solvers have really active concurrency and they keep beating records really often. Removing this event would ruin this competitive energy about clock. <br>

For those who aren't liking cubes that much, clock was an official option. It was really popular. And I personally used to only compete at clock at my first competition because that was the only event I was liking a lot and was decent at. <br>

Please bring it back, I'm sure it wasn't that complicated to manage if WCA kept it for so long.

While her accomplishments in boxing are undeniable and deserving of recognition, I believe her repeated involvement in public altercations, hostile exchanges, and aggressive behavior outside of sanctioned competition reflects poorly on the sport and the image of professional athletes.<br>
Boxing naturally involves promotion, competition, and trash talk. However, there should be a clear line between entertainment and inappropriate conduct. Public incidents involving physical aggression, disrespect toward others, and ongoing social media hostility create a negative example for young athletes and fans who look up to professional fighters as role models.<br>
My concerns are not based on race, complexion, or personal dislike. As a dark-skinned African American woman myself, I want to make it clear that this is not a colorism issue. This is about accountability, professionalism, and the standards that should be upheld by individuals representing the sport on a global platform.<br>
Claressa Shields frequently presents herself as an advocate and representative for African American women and women in sports. Because of that, her public behavior carries influence. Unfortunately, the constant negativity, public disputes, and apparent lack of accountability overshadow her athletic talent and damage the positive image many women athletes work hard to build.<br>
This petition is not intended to erase her accomplishments or attack her personally. Rather, it is a call for disciplinary action and accountability to reinforce that repeated hostile or aggressive conduct outside the ring should not be normalized or rewarded within professional sports.<br>
Athletes, especially champions, should be held to standards that reflect leadership, discipline, and respect for others. Without accountability, this behavior risks becoming accepted as the example for future generations of fighters.<br>
I respectfully ask that the appropriate organizations review this pattern of conduct seriously and take the necessary disciplinary action to protect the integrity and reputation of the sport.
