It’s vital for Deaf children to have Deaf peers and trained teachers for the Deaf. So this school must be saved.
Anne a soutenu : Give all deaf children a fair chance
This is disgusting. Henry wants to be at school with his peers and there's no good reason to deny this. Would the council or headteacher be happy with this treatment for their own child? Why do they want to deny Henry the education every child in this country is entitled to? Why do they choose to segregate him? Let Henry be with his peers, learning in a classroom environment as he wants. This is a simple ask and can be easily enacted under the current funding.

All teachers should know how to deal with SEN children. This helps build a better understanding for children to learn & for teachers to understand, why children act the way they do. Rather than labeling them the naughty, disruptive kids in their class. Or wanting to punish them for impulsive & uncontrollable ways.

I’m so sorry your son has gone through this. I have a brother in assisted living & always worry about these things too. If there’s one thing you can be assured of, 99% of autistic people do not lie…. His word & your evidence should be enough. On the other side of the coin, I also have family who work as carers / mental health nurses & this would also protect them from false accusations, which can occur (not saying this your case), such as a family member accused of abuse as they would not disclose their social media account to a patient. CCTV helped the investigation & proved abuse did not happen, but body worn & voice recording would’ve dismissed it right away, saved months of investigation, saving the trust months of paid suspension & resource to investigate (but rightly so, in lieu of body worn cameras!)

I really hope this goes through from Mrs. Jean scott, my mum is in a care home with dementia
Jeannie a soutenu : Mandate wearable cameras for care staff!
I have been in a few residential treatment centers. Having cameras on the staff would have been a game changer and the abuse that I had been running away from wouldn't have continued in an environment where we should have felt safe.

they are Children with Needs not Criminals so why lock them up in jail BUILD THE PLACES FOR THEM cameras should be in place in EVERY PLACE OF CARE to end the ongoing abuse of so many and end the unexplained deaths in care 180 last year alone ROBERT HAD AN UNEXPLAINED BROKEN HIP FOR OVER 6 WEEKS THE HOSPITAL CALLED THE POLICE NO CHARGES BROUGHT THE ABUSER IS STILL OUT THERE ? as there was nothing in accedent book ? but he still had a broken hip and a shard of bone endded up in his brain and killed him HE WAS MENT TO BE IN A PLACE OF CARE ?? THAT COST HIM HIS LIFE ?? WHERE IS THERE PROTECTION ??
Tracey a soutenu : Mandate wearable cameras for care staff!
My grandson goes to a special needs school and I think body cameras should be worn by every person working with vulnerable adults and children at all times. It makes me feel sick to my stomach when some ppl abuse the position of trust. I back this petition fully.

As someone who went to Special Educational Needs School. I am saddened and disappointed that there are no post 19-needs for current students. Northern Ireland Executive needs to look at all aspects of SEN as it doesn't stop at Childhood, it's an ongoing thing even at adulthood.
