It is mind blowing and just sickening that this beautiful woman's life was taken away so brutally and viciously, but it is even more mind-blowing and sickening that the people who have been tasked to find the killer refuse to share updates. If it weren't that "podcast that was after a buck" most of us wouldn't have heard about Darlene. That podcast is lighting a fire under the officials as it should. The fact that those in charge refuse to even update the family feels like it should be illegal. We are all looking at you Marshall county and we won't stop until there are answers.
It’s infuriating that it’s been 40 years, they have the evidence and it hasn’t been tested. Give this family some closure! Test and retest the evidence until it is conclusive. Never assume.
Everyone should be safe in their own home. No father should ever leave his family in a home he provides, to find out that the home was invaded and his family destroyed. No person should take a life and not have to answer for it. This situation is the true meaning of terror, the real bogeyman does exist and needs to be brought to justice. I want to know who the prosecutor is protecting?
So many cases go unsolved, and forgotten. Please do not let this be one of them. Test and retest any evidence you have, do whatever you can to bring this family closure.
I live in Indiana. So this hits close to home. Knowing that there are things that could be tested but they just aren’t her family deserves to know what happened
Darlene’s case stood out to me because my family is going through the same thing with my uncle. So many similarities. No justice has been served and the detective on the case doesn’t seem to be worried about finishing the case, and even told the family at one point he wouldn’t communicate with us going forward. I hate that it’s been 39 years, and there are still no answers for Darlene’s case. I hope they get the closure they need after all these years!
This woman deserves justice. She is someone's daughter, she is a wife, and she is a mother. She fought for her kids until she died and she needs someone to fight for her justice. If they have the evidence and they are not using it to seek justice, they are as guilty as the murderer. The negligence in this case is disgusting. All of those involved in allowing this should be drowning in shame. This is inexcusable. This is the first time listening that I have cried and felt sick to my stomach. How have they went home and slept for over 30 years?
How disheartening her daughters must feel that those supposably in charge of solving Darlene's case seem to not trying at all almost 40 years later. Run the tests! It's science and should be heavily relied upon. The prosecutor needs to put his pride aside and either follow through with testing, retire or hand it off to someone who cares
I can’t imagine waiting over 40 years to find out who took your mother away. Especially when you’ve seen the monster’s face. Please give her daughters peace.
