The Philippines is a beautiful country with rich natural resources, hardworking people, and a unique culture. Because of this, I believe we should think carefully before allowing projects that could greatly affect our land and communities. This is why I support the call to stop Pax Silica.
One of my biggest concerns is its possible impact on the environment. Large industrial projects often require huge amounts of land, water, and electricity. If they are not managed properly, they can damage forests, pollute rivers, and displace families living in nearby communities. Once nature is destroyed, it is difficult to restore it.
I am also concerned about our country’s sovereignty. While foreign investments can create jobs and help the economy, the Philippine government should always make sure that Filipinos benefit the most. Our land and resources should never be used in ways that put the interests of other countries ahead of our own. Many Filipinos have also raised questions about transparency and whether local communities will truly have a say in decisions that affect them.
The Philippines is a beautiful country. I'm a teenager, I may not know everything in the world, but I do hope and believe that by using my voice and the knowledge I have, I can somehow help stop the Pax Silica project in the Philippines.
The Philippines has a lot to offer - not just to offer our resources to other countries, but to Filipinos themselves. I'm not saying that we shouldn't help other countries, or let go of our good hospitality for those who appreciate and love our country, but the challenges that the citizens of the Philippines are facing right now must be our priority. For me, as a pinay, I don't think that we should always be the best in everything, we don't need to remain on top of rankings among other countries, because what's important is that we have good governance, a good education system, a good agricultural system, and the whole country itself must be in good condition.
For those that are reading this, I hope you choose to use your voice, not just for ourselves, but for our people and our country.

It is the government that is to serve the people, not the people serving the government and most definitely not the philippines serving another country. We are an independent country for a reason. And kapwa filipino died for that reason.
