As a graduate of Mentor High and as a veteran, I strongly believe in the importance of Mentor students having this forum and opportunity to engage, learn, and become better citizens.
A free press is essential to America and what it stands for in the world. Starting with school writing can make the students think critically and form their own opinions. In a digital world of memes and 30 second videos, the well thought out written word is so important.
Since Abby hoover & Michael Bushnell have left the Northeast News, the quality & quantity of the news stories has GREATLY decreased. Today, the paper is worthless & before it was my go to paper. I took out ads & made donations in the past because it was such a great paper. Now it's useless chamber of commerce updates, which I can already get on the NECC Facebook page. Please get a new board & help make the paper a useful source for neighbors again!
