I have had medical issues since I was born. This will impact so many including me on how they will be able to live and get by.
Jennifer supported: Save Medicaid Expansion Funding: Protect Health Care for MillionsThese people will never know the utter desperation and feeling of destitution living below poverty line having dependent and these benefits being in constant jeopardy of being either discontinued or limited, we live in a daily fear hoping and praying, I can’t walk I can barely bathe myself, after a botched surgery, my son has Medicade (12), we fully depend on these benefits and the ability to have immediate health care services, they can speculate, read analytical statistics etc but existing on that line and knowing life itself will crumble at the merely stroke of a key, for many many Americans, who wish and beg they could work could contribute and benefit society, … it’s a stark reality
J supported: Save Medicaid Expansion Funding: Protect Health Care for MillionsI have an 11 year old daughter with a rare genetic condition called CASK Gene mutation. She is nonverbal and has severe developmental disabilities along with epilepsy. She had multiple doctor appointments at Seattle Children's every month and 4 therapy appointments weekly. She has qualified for the maximum level of Personal Care Hours through the DDA waiver but have been unable to find a qualified care giver. I can't work because the amount of time I would have to take off to take her to all of her therapy and doctors appointments is substantial. This has put a severe strain on our family financially.
Jennifer supported: Implement House Bill 2184 to Allow Parents Payment as Caregivers for Disabled ChildrenBeing disabled myself as well as my mom we need home health aids and funding to help the elderly and disabled
Elizabethl supported: Congress: Don’t Cut Medicaid — Protect Kids from Becoming CaregiversMy mother died because she caught -diff in a nursing home, after she was unable to be alone due to her Parkinson’s and Dementia. We cared for her at home as long as we could, but a paid caregiver would have allowed her to stay home, and she would not have died like she did. Also, a part time paid caregiver, would have cost her insurances a lot less than that death home. It’s sorrowful. I have already accepted euthanasia as my end, should I become ill like my mother, and if there is no one ‘helping’ my sons to care for me. So yeah, this issue means something to me. Please just think how you’d feel if you couldn’t afford help for your Mom or your Dad. It’s painful. It’s unfair. It’s something that needs to change! Thank you.
Kathy supported: Congress: Don’t Cut Medicaid — Protect Kids from Becoming CaregiversPeople with severe disabilities cannot work. I have friends and coworkers who can no longer work because they are physically unable to do their jobs. They rely on Medicaid to pay for medical expenses. Others who cannot afford insurance for their children rely on Medicaid so they can be seen promptly and have vaccines to help prevent serious illness and death. Removing SNAP from low income families will mean children and seniors and disabled people go hungry. I don't care about a tax break when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable among us. They worked and paid into the system and when they need benefits, those need to be available.
Jennifer supported: Stop Cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in the Current Reconciliation BillNot everyone can have a high paying job. This is going to be hard for a lot of families. Kids won't have snacks anymore. Cause who is packing fruit and veggies on a trip. No one. People with hypoglycemia or diabetes are being looked over. The fact that people let politicians spread a stereotype that people on gov assistance don't work is disgusting. They know very well we have to provide proof of income but yet encouraging people to kick us when we are down anyway. It's already embarrassing some of us have to depend on it for groceries supplements much less make us feel even more like second class citizens by limiting what we are allowed to buy.
Raven supported: Stop Cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in the Current Reconciliation BillPeople are already struggling cut Medicare and food stamps is not a good strategy when food is still expensive. Unless you want people without. Medicare or food stamps who are already barely getting by.
K supported: Stop Cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in the Current Reconciliation BillI have a family member in long term care at a memory facility. We had to sell his house and use the income to pay full coverage. When this money runs out will the state/federal dollars be there to help? This is a very punitive approach to th health care system.
Monica supported: Stop Cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in the Current Reconciliation BillI have a Rare Cardiac Disease-I’m a single mom to a daughter w/Masters in Nutrition. Without Medicare/Medicaid I wouldn’t be here to watch her achieve. My daughter was on Medicaid growing up. Without it where would we be? I’d be gone….
