We Run a business on Big Cypress Bayou. Water is required for all boating, fishing or tourist activity on the bayou. Depleting the resource will ruin any of these activities. People from all over the country come to Caddo to view the beauty of the trees, moss, & explore the natural waterways.
Our Golden Pond AKA Lake of the Pines, is a pristine place for us, our children and grandchildren to enjoy for generations. Please stand with the citizens of East Texas to block the sale of the water rights our communities paid for in the 1950s! Not only is our lake in danger but the irreplaceable Caddo Lake would be decimated by this sale. Please sign this petition to show your support!
I grew up on Caddo Lake. It was a big part of our lives. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in the country. If you sell our lake water you will upset the ecosystem. Also consider where the local people are going to get their water in “30 years” and at what the cost is for them. Just VOTE NO!
I live in Hallsville and the Lake of the Pines is our main water source in East Texas. It is the only natural lake in Texas. The sale of this lake will be detrimental to not only the ecosystem of the lake but of the lands natural's resources.
Lake o the pines is a great family getaway and fishing lake, to sell water rights would be to betray the very people who love visiting this amazing place and take it away from future people who might want to see it!
Lake O Pines is a place for families to go fishing together, enjoy the outdoors and get away from the noise. It's a hotspot for people that love to catch fish for consumption. DFW needs to to work harder in finding a alternative solution for water rather than coming into the rural areas and taking from the smaller people who enjoy the way it is. But that's about right! Big money people being lazy and trying to take the easy way out by trying to take control of what people work hard for and manage in the rural counties.
If any more water is taken from lake o the pines it will kill big cypress and caddo lake. I’m a desert storm veteran that comes here to get away and was raised here. Please don’t take it away.
Water drives our economy.
Water will also drive our future.
We have never considered selling any portion of our water rights since their inception. Water is too precious to consider selling now.
