Hunting remains a contentious topic globally, with petitions addressing various aspects of the practice. Advocates call for stricter regulations on hunting practices to protect wildlife populations and preserve ecosystems. They highlight the importance of ethical hunting and sustainable practices to prevent species depletion and promote conservation efforts.
One petition with significant support urges for the end of trophy hunting, emphasizing the cruelty and exploitation involved in killing animals for sport. Another petition focuses on banning certain hunting methods like trapping and snaring, citing the inhumane treatment of animals in these practices.
By exploring the petitions related to hunting, individuals can educate themselves on animal welfare issues and support efforts to promote responsible and compassionate treatment of wildlife. Join the movement to advocate for more ethical hunting practices and make a positive impact on our environment and biodiversity.
Killing bears for the perverse thrills, ego-boosting, whatever of people, is human-centric, cruel, entitled, and irresponsible. One person is killed and it's considered a tragedy, yet too few see a problem with killing large numbers of bears. We're not special, we're not the most important, we're only important species on the planet.
I'm not an LDS member, but I fully support this movement. The scope of animal cruelty in modern factory farms is unimaginable; it's an ethical disaster, and despite this, almost nobody knows about or cares about it.
As someone who has hunted in MI since before I was allowed to do so with a weapon, and someone who has a young child at home who I want to experience great hunting in the state, we need APRs to force better age class and herd dynamics for the long term deer herd health.
As a lifelong resident of Missouri, I support other fellow outdoorsmen and women no matter the state.
In my home state of Missouri, we have implemented a 4 point restriction in many counties, which have been all but slowly and surely removed as the propaganda of the cwd outbreak have ramped up.
Our quality of deer suffer because we simply are not allowing the herd to reach an age structure of more than 2 years old. Simply put, I fear that in my state, we are slowly becoming the very thing Michigan has become.
I hope to change things around in mine, and I certainly support the change in Michigan.
Live and hunt in the northern most part of Michigan UP, Keweenaw Peninsula. I support QDM not as a trophy aspect but a survival aspect for the deer herd itself in my area. Predation and Winters are a severe problem, winters can’t be fixed, the other can. Need to manage the lower michigan and UP differently and more responsible with the harvest of year old bucks.
Black bears are innocent creatures who deserve to live, they are not violent unless necessary. They deserve to live in their environments peacefully. I live in AZ and there’s this place called bearizona that has at least 30+ black bears and other animals. The bears looked extremely peaceful and not threatening at all. I’m willing to bet the same people voting in favor of this hunt are prolifers that will fight for something that’s not born yet but they’ll jump and the opportunity to kill innocent animals. Y’all know the “Man vs. Bear” discussion. I pick the bear any day over a man. We need to protect these animals. 🧸🐻🤍
Why is killing always the only thing the agencies that are supposed to be protecting our wildlife can come up with!!? Obviously taking their habitat away by over population and excessive building is the problem. STOP the stripping away of our precious land, water and beautiful resources by the careless developers and paid off government agencies only looking to make a profit. I have lived here all my life and seen it firsthand. So very sad.
Very concerned with the mule deer population in California. Not only are we a state that doesn’t allow the mountain lion population to be controlled, wolves have now made California there home. Every herd is down in numbers and with the recent discovery of Chronic Wasting in the state, Catalina is the last herd untouched by the above dangers.
Protect this herd at all costs!!!
