Selling hot chocolate was one of my favorite childhood memories. It taught me valuable lessons about buying supplies, handling money, and developing people skills that have benefited me throughout my life. I sincerely hope that the kids in our neighborhood can experience the same joys of being outside and engaging with the community each night. It would be a real shame and a tragic end to such a wonderful tradition if they couldn't!!!
The critical issue is the City Council is making these decisions in a vacuum. It would be appreciated if they actually spoke & weighted the votes of the residents who live in The Holiday lights section. I’m a resident and only once (in years) have we’ve been contacted - but there are lots of voices and opinions who have effectuated changes in my neighborhood —— and not for the positive.
Support your local community, create a holiday environment for families to enjoy and look forward to each year & let the families host hot chocolate & goody stands.
Me and my family have been coming to Candy cane lane for many many years and we enjoy the hot cocoa on the cold nights while walking enjoying the Christmas Decor, So please don't take that from us all!!
Our family cherishes the tradition of purchasing drinks and goodies along the way as we stroll the neighborhood enjoying their festive display. Please keep this tradition and support of local teams/groups alive!!!
My family has been walking through Sleepy Hollow for 20 years. We enjoy the treats and take pride in supporting local families with their fundraising efforts for their kids. It's also wonderful to have a quick chat with the families selling these great-priced goodies and to let them know how much we appreciate the hard work they put into decorating and baking.
Just seems America finds more and more ways to devalue military service. Im a disabled gulf war veteran and cant find justice these last 34 years of wrongs done to GWI veterans. Now a effort to hide how many are dying of ALS every day. Veterans day is generic for a reason, meant to provide equality for those that served. Trump has no clue.
