As a fellow HBCU alum, ALL of our HBCUs deserve to have leaders that have their best interests at the forefront. FAMU should not be a sacrificial lamb for anyone who is furthering their political and/ or personal agenda. It's not right, and we will NOT stand idly by and allow our institutions to become a casualty of a dysfunctional administration!!

My dad went to a historically Black college in Mississippi (Rust), and this situation sounds so messed up and wrong to me, so I support this!

The experiment of America is failing. The proverbial petri dish has been compromised, broken. The last hope we have of being one people UNAFRAID of others different than ourselves is in the continued education of our youth and led by mentors who appreciate the power and positivity HBCUs offer our nation.

Our Alma Mater start with “ College of love and charity” because that is who we are as Rattlers. This candidate and the extremists she supports, does not believe in love or charity for people that look like her own self. The FAMU we all attended, love and support, should not entertain this candidate in the interest of the core principles of our beloved institution.

"...not at the college of love and charity..." The seemingly intentional sabotage of this process is unacceptable. FAMU needs and deserves to choose a leader that can reform and reinvigorate our beloved institution. The time for greatness is now. I urge more alumni to speak up and demonstrate our support!

Donald Palm deserves this title! The time he has poured into his students (including myself) and FAMU itself speaks volumes of how much he truly cares about the institution and all that it means to others!

As a proud alum of FAMU, and a legacy alum, I must state that my beloved alma mater deserves better. The presidential selection process was circumvented at the end with the addition of Marva Johnson, a candidate with no higher education experience, and questionable motives. Ms. Johnson is aligned with forces that do not have the best interests of FAMU at heart. I most fervently oppose her appointment. FAMU deserves better.

As a proud FAMU alum, I strongly oppose the selection of Marva Johnson. Her limited experience in higher education leadership raises serious concerns about her ability to guide an institution as important and complex as FAMU. Even more troubling are her ties to Governor Ron DeSantis, whose policies have consistently targeted diversity initiatives and the teaching of Black history. This decision feels politically motivated and out of touch with the values FAMU stands for. Our university deserves a leader who truly understands and represents its legacy, mission, and community.

We are under a maniacal, self-serving administration that, among many horrific tactics, is actively trying to erase Black history. Florida will especially be impacted since DeSantis has already implemented school policies that whitewash history. Marva Johnson’s politics and alliance with DeSantis conflict with the mission and necessity of HBCUs. FAMU deserves a president who is genuinely invested in the education of Black college students.
